Step 1 Open/paste your image. I will be using a photograph I took of clouds above, which is already pre-edited using color balance. With these particular techniques, you'll want your image to have a magenta hue. An easy way to do this is with color balance.
Step 2 I want the image to be more vivid, so time for selective color! Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Color. When the window pops up, click OK and input the following settings: (when you are done it should look like this)
Step 3 I'm picky, and I still don't think the image is vivid enough. So, I duplicate the base (and place it above the Selective Color layer) and play with the color balance until it becomes blue, and thus you should as well. This is what I mean. Set this layer to Color Burn, 60%. view.
Step 4 Make a new layer. With a size 300 soft brush, brush a straight line across the top of the image in #28D2C1, or a similar blue tone. Then, set the layer to Lighten. This is what I mean: view.
Step 5 Though this looks pretty, it's also kind of boring. Therefore, I am going to add text. Add whatever you want, in whatever fonts. I used Ardenwood demo and Times new Roman, and a few lines from a poem by John Greanleaf Whittier.
Note: Please do not use the signature I created in this tutorial, and if you make one exactly like it, credit me since the image is my own photograph.
