This is my webhost. Surprise!
The site layout is very cute, simple and very clean. But the pink on blue text is really hard to read (maybe give the pink text a dark bakground to it?).
Navigation
The site has two navigations: an image map at the top and one in the sidebar. They both lead to the same place, so I think it's a bit redundant.
Navigating the site is very easy, though the small font of the links is hard on the eyes.
Header
The header really isn't my favorite part of the layout. I love the colors in it, but I'd like to see more editing than pink color blobs. The blending is
done very well, however. I'm not sure who that is in the layout. Perhaps mention it somewhere next time? It's always nice to know.
Coding
The coding is cute and matches the layout, but it's pretty hard to read. I'm not sure where the light grey came from for the main text, but changing it to a dark blue
would match and be easier to read. The puprle for italics is almost impossible to read, as is the hot pink used for bold because of the medium blue color for the background.
When coding the colors, it's best to use contrasting colors (i.e. a dark background with light colors or vice versa). I like the appearance of the coding, just not the colors.
Content
Blends I'm not sure if this is a showcase or if people can use these. I will assume they can be used, as they are in "content" and not a "portfolio" section.
There are nine, all of females associated with Disney at one point in their lives. So, very little variety. They are blended pretty well, but they aren't edit that well. They are slightly colorized and most just have "color blobs" on them.
Textures and brushes are also important in editing!
Avatars There are only six here, all females. I like the cropping on them, but they aren't colored very well. They are pretty contrasted and saturated, which I personally find unappealing. Also, these
could use avatar textures and/or brushes. Adding text is sometimes a nice touch as well.
Colorizations These should probably be moved to a Portfolio. Visitors typically don't use colorizations for anything. I can't say these are done well. I always though the point of
colorizing black and whites was to make them look realistically colored, but these look creepy to me. Like they have caked on makeup and freaky contacts in.
Layouts One must ask permission for one of these, and she states int he rules you can request one. Again, blended well, but in desperate need of textures and brushes! I highly
suggest reading some tutorials on using brushes and textures (and colorizing as well, as these too are highly saturated and contrasted).
Summary
The site is cute, and it's pretty obvious it's not visitor oriented. What is here really isn't that great. Jessie is very good at blending, but there's no variety (everything is Disney females),
and the content is a bit boring due to advanced editing effects like utilixing textures and brushes.
Suggestions
Brushes, textures, and colorizing tutorials. I think they'll realy help make your work pop.
